Payment in full is required 1 week before the start date for classes and upon arrival for a 1-1 booking. To ensure your place is booked it is better to pay online. If payment is not received the space will be made available online again. We will call you before we do this.
If it becomes necessary to cancel the course after you have booked and paid for it but before you have started it we require 5 working days notice for a refund to be made. This also stands for 1-1 bookings, unless for any reason we must cancel and cannot rearrange we cannot offer refunds.
Any refund made will be reduced by an administration fee of £25.00. If you start the course and then cancel or fail to turn up no refund will be made except in special circumstances. If you start a 1-1 private training plan and decide to cancel or fail to continue the training, no refund will be offered. These situations will be considered individually. We encourage all people considering booking to come along and view our class before booking onto it and to speak on the phone before booking a 1-1 session. This will enable you to be sure you can make the allocated times and that you like the way we run our classes and know what to expect from 1-1 sessions.
If Payments are not payed within 10 days from when the first invoice was issued, and you have attended a class or a 1-1 you will be charged interest of 8.75% from the day the payment became overdue and the matter will be taken to the small claims court where you will also be liable for any court costs and charges, If the charges haven't been paid after 30 days notice this will also be passed on to our debt collection team.
If you have completed a 1-1 training package and decided to not adhere to any advice given you will not be offered a refund. It will have been explained to you over the phone consultation what to expect and what type of training will be involved ( gentle, kind methods) time and patience are vital in behavioural training, we do not offer short term training techniques due to unreliability.
Sometimes due to the landowners/ Hall hires, lack of numbers, or extreme weather classes may have to be postponed or delayed, they will always be rescheduled to the following week. In a 1-1 training session if an unexpected event or illness stops you from attending the appointment these can be rescheduled without charge. Once a 1-1 booking has been made, you have a 4 month time slot to fit in your scheduled appointments, if you cannot fit all of them in within this window you will lose any left over after the 4 month period unless discussed prior to booking.
We do not tolerate any form of heavy/harsh handling or training techniques as we are strictly positive reinforcement methods only. We cannot accept choke chains, prong collars, e-collars, slip leads or any form of harsh training tools. All you are required to bring is a standard lead, tasty treats and a clicker if you use one.
We take every precaution to reduce risk of disease, however, we cannot be held accountable should a dog become poorly. This has not happened before, however, there is a very small risk with un-vaccinated puppies. We would ask that you ensure you only bring healthy dogs/puppies to class. If you suspect your dog may be ill (diarrhoea/vomiting/off food) please do not bring him/her to class.
Barking Up the Right Tree Ltd has public liability and general insurance suitable for a dog training instructor and behaviourist. Any physical activity can have risks, however remote. Participation in activities is entirely at the risk of the participant. Neither Barking Up the Right Tree Ltd, nor its individual instructors or helpers, nor the owners or landlords of our training venues, accept any responsibilities, whatsoever, for any injuries or losses sustained which are not covered by our insurance. Handlers and/or owners remain responsible for their dogs at all times and are advised to ensure they have adequate pet or household insurance cover for liability in the unlikely event of damage or injury caused by their dog to property or to a third party.
